"I can whole-heartedly recommend Jeffrey Bates for an author visit to your school.  Your students will love him and the message he brings in his presentation of The Little Bucket is truly inspirational and should not be missed."

"Emptiness as an experience in Western civilization is a horrible thing apparently. It's painful because we're forever trying to fill ourselves up with something - and our time is never relaxed.  The first inkling of the "hole" of emptiness we try to fill up with endless streams of activity, addiction and just noisy participation in things that, in the grand scheme of things, don't add up to much. I prefer that we take a good long look at this "hole" in our bucket and instead of fill it, deny or pretend it doesn't exist, we feel it instead."   - Jeffrey Bates
